PEYNET KIOSK
A meeting place for lovers and musicians, a historic monument restored to its original state.
Immutable, distinctive, romantic! At the edge of the Parc Jouvet, this Valence bandstand remains a meeting place for lovers. Built as a bandstand in 1862, it was made famous by a drawing by Raymond Peynet (1908-1999). It was during a stopover in Valence in 1942 that the artist immortalized a young couple of delicate lovers under the bandstand. Peynet's Lovers would travel the world. Now famous, Peynet returned to Valence in 1966 to christen his kiosk. A historic monument, the Peynet kiosk has been restored to its original design.
