Located in the heart of the historic city center, the Musée de Valence boasts a number of fine relics from the past, including a 12th-century fortified tower and painted ceilings from the 15th and 17th centuries. Renovated and enlarged in 2013, it presents a broad panorama of art history, from regional prehistory to contemporary art. Its building offers a 360° view of the Valence landscape, from the Vercors to the Ardèche. An open, lively cultural venue, it offers exhibitions and numerous events throughout the year.

Located in the historic center of Vieux Valence, the Musée de Valence welcomes you in a pleasant setting with a panoramic view of the Valence landscape. Founded in 1850, it houses more than 20,000 works depicting the history of man and the arts, from prehistory to the present day. Here, you'll discover an impressive archaeological collection tracing the civilizations that have occupied the Drôme and mid-Rhône valley. In the Art section, you'll see fine collections of paintings, drawings, sculptures and various decorative arts focusing on the theme of landscape. The museum also offers a rich and varied cultural program. It hosts temporary exhibitions, workshops, shows and more. The museum also offers a unique setting for private events. A number of interesting offers are also available for works councils, including educational workshops, guided tours and reduced rates. A great place to visit!
