A botanical trail in Bonneville with illustrated markers explaining the local flora and fauna.
On the heights of Bonneville, a pleasant walk in the forest coupled with an educational botanical trail with its illustrated markers to explain the local fauna and flora. To access this trail, follow the road that leads to the hamlet of Saint-Etienne, the signs will indicate the Sentier du Dard (you have to follow an unsealed road, don't worry, until the Chaffardière car park). Then, all you have to do is walk (about 1 hour) with your family (recommended for children aged 5 and over, 8 years old if you want to go up to the waterfall with steeper slopes) to discover the forest environment. Spruces, beeches, black pines and, more surprisingly, Scots pines which give a Mediterranean air to this alpine forest. It is also an opportunity to observe the fauna with birds: the jay with its recognizable cry, the song of the blackbirds or the flight of the black kite. With a bit of luck, you will come across a roe deer, a chamois or wild boars.
