ARPIN
The excellence of the made in Pays de Savoie ! Opened in 2010 in the historic district of Chamonix (then Megève, Lyon, Val d'Isère and Courchevel), the first exclusive boutique of the Arpin de Séez Savoyard spinning mill (Savoie) offers the opportunity to handle "old-fashioned" wool fabrics made with Bonneval cloth according to an ancestral know-how handed down for eight generations in the Séez Saint-Bernard factory (Haute Tarentaise), founded in 1817. This dense wool sheet, dense and resistant to cold and humidity, ideal for high mountains, was used to make the clothes of the Chamonix guides as early as 1821 and whose ceremonial clothes Arpin has been making since 2004. He has dressed generations of mountain people, military and mountaineers: Himalayas in 1890, polar expeditions in 1949.... Arpin also provided the traditional outfits for the 1992 Albertville Olympic Games. This Living Heritage Company, a label acquired in 2007 with 14 machines classified as National Heritage Inventory, still produces fabrics and clothing that combine traditional and contemporary, but also decorative home accessories and a superb line of luggage.
