DOUVAINE ANIMATIONS
Capital of the Bas-Chablais with a contemporary infrastructure in the shape of a flying saucer in Douvaine.
Douvaine, the small capital of Bas-Chablais, is a city at the crossroads between Geneva and Thonon-les-Bains and is home to many border residents. Near the Veigy-Foncenex customs, its sports complex with a swimming pool, tennis, and golf practice is a delight for the Franco-Swiss. Its contemporary infrastructure is easily identified in the form of a "flying saucer", the Bubble, which hosts events and shows. People come from far away every Sunday morning for its local farmers' market, and in summer for its location near the lake. The commune has been producing a wine with the Crépy appellation on its soil for decades. It is symbolised by the grape cluster in the town's coat of arms, next to a wolf's head, a symbol of its parish of Saint-Loup to which it belongs. To visit, its church with its 12th-century Romanesque bell tower and the Loisin cellars for a friendly tasting.
