At the entrance of Evian, while the lake is not yet blue, it is not very attractive. And yet, you must stop (convenient car park) near the swimming pool to taste the joys of a local table full of charm. You leave the city to find yourself comfortably at table in the mountain pastures. Alpine fresco mural, layers of small red and white tiles and objects related to mountain rurality attract your eyes in a museum. A charming host is offered by Dominique who welcomes you with a smile, while Didier prepares us a delicious traditional cuisine. Start with lake specialities: a dish of fillets of pole meunière or a trout fillet with almonds. Typical French dishes are not left out. One can try a bowl of snails or frogs' legs with provençal. But let us get back to our former delicacies and naturally savour the Savoyard cheese specialities with fondue or berthoud. Le Campagnard is served throughout town for a great gourmet delight.
