TÉLÉSKI DE LA TURCHE
The last independent ski lift in Les Gets! Operated for three generations by the Combépine family, the buttock puller was created at the dawn of the development of alpine skiing by the visionary tailor Georges (and one of his friends) in 1946, joined by the following generations: Pierre in 1991 and Christelle and Virginie in 2008. Together, the family fought to keep this emblematic heritage of the resort alive. Some celebrities, such as the host Guy Lux who frequented him, made his hours of glory. The route of the small passage or Turche, mostly in the forest, offers superb views of the Arve Valley. Accessible by the slopes or by road from the village centre, the ski lift station at the foot of the slopes for a relaxing break with music and après-ski. Regular visitors come from far away to rediscover the friendliness and good humour of this typical place, seemingly straight out of the filmed archives of the early days of winter sports. Lovers of vintage experience will choose the authentic setting of the rooms with balcony and view of the forest, the track or Marcelly's peak, the hotel superbly renovated and always managed sympathetically by the Combépine family, the owners.
