An animal park which is unusual in the quantity and diversity of its inhabitants, to be discovered in Les Houches.

Chamois, mouflons, ibex, marmots, fallow deer, hinds and even llamas! The Merlet wildlife park stands out for the sheer number and diversity of its inhabitants. At an altitude of 1,563 m, the Cachat family is at the helm of this mountain safari created in 1968. Enjoy the freedom of a 20-hectare estate and meet the most famous animals of the Alps and the Andes. Allow 20 minutes to reach the park entrance, then choose between 2 circuits: one complete, lasting 2 to 3 hours, the other easy, lasting one hour. Snowshoeing available in winter, by prior arrangement.

Closed from October to April. Low season: open Tuesday to Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. High season: daily from 9:30 am to 7:30 pm. Adults: €9. Children (aged 4 to 15): €6. Reservations required daily in July and August. Guided tour (autonomous on smartphone). Restaurant. Gift store. Entertainment. Dogs not allowed.

Having gone in this park a few years ago, I really appreciated. The animals are close (including deer that you can almost touch). The marmots are more difficult to see so that the chamois,...
The appearance " book naturelle" /nature in a pure state is an asset for the park.
Lovers of animaux/de nature/de photos and children will appreciate.

Very pretty afternoon spent Parc du Merlet. We loved to watch marmots, chamois, etc... the place is very beautiful and breathtaking views. I recommend this place for families, children will love!
