LA TAVERNE DU MONT D’ARBOIS
Friendly and welcoming address with wood-fired specialties and traditional Savoyard dishes.
The Taverne du Mont d'Arbois, an imposing mountain chalet with Austrian accents, is a rotisserie annex of the neighbouring Relais & Châteaux, owned by the Rothschild family. A family house, made of wood and old beams, welcoming, friendly, where the ground floor bar precedes the centre of the fireplace: the monumental fireplace. Cooking over a wood fire, grilled or roasted on a spit in the hearth, is indeed at the heart of the kitchen of this new kind of tavern. While the Austrian costume of the waiters may surprise, the "cooking in the fireplace" immediately seduces. The classic grilled prime rib is, of course, on the menu, and the veal shank with fir honey on a spit and the pigeon and peasant bacon on a spit are now part of the house's classics. All that remains is to settle in the intimate room on the ground floor, near the fireplace where pigeons and suckling pigs roast, to enjoy the heat and the show. The traditional Savoyard specialities are also on the menu.

The manager is impressive dynamism and professionalism. Perfect meal meat which cook in the room. On wall-to-wall you can dine around the fireplace in a more intimate room. To do and has to freshen up...
