GLAÇONS DE MEGÈVE
An opportunity to taste the authentic and delicious recipe of the real Megève Ice Cube! This small round white pebble - made of hazelnut, almond and chocolate praline, coated with a thin layer of crunchy meringue - has become a traditional confection from Megève. The history of the Glaçon began in 1909 with the Italian Barthélémy Vigliengo, who was passionate about chocolate. At the age of 20, he left his native Italy for Savoy where he fell in love with Germaine. From this love will be born a chocolate of emotion, a small round white pebble, at the same time as their son Léon. It was in 1933 that Léon and his wife, Gilberte, created the Mont Joly pastry shop, on the church square in Megève, where this chocolate bonbon with the flavours of childhood would be widely distributed.
