History. In the 1950s, in Thonon-les-Bains, on the shores of Lake Geneva, Jean Bron decided to manufacture a manual steel vegetable cutter at the request of friends and restaurateurs instead of the existing wooden models: the mandolin was born. Jean Bron then created his brand represented by a small red flag. He will then manufacture a French fry cutter, a bread cutter, a macedonia cutter of the same quality. In 1975, after moving into larger premises, Etablissements Jean Bron was bought by André Coucke, a small textile manufacturer from northern France. This will develop the company's sales in a spectacular way, especially in export markets. His son Didier, the current CEO, decided to exhibit for the first time at the Equiphotel exhibition in Paris in 1984. In 1985, an Export Oscar was awarded for their efforts; then, Bron-Coucke innovated by launching the vegetable cutter "Le Rouet", a device for spinning vegetables into spaghetti, tagliatelle and garlands. Other innovations, such as the warming plate, the truffle mandolin, the raw vegetable grater, the tomato cutter, will be introduced and will push the company to move again in 1996 to settle in 1,200 m² in Orcier, not far from Thonon.
In 2017, Tellier & Cie acquired the historical player in the utensils and kitchen equipment market.
