LAUDON COUNTRY HOUSE
At the beginning of the 20th century, the people of Saint-Jorioz still lived at the rhythm of country activities. Today, Saint-Jorioz has become a residential and holiday village. Crossed by the Laudon river, which gave its name to this country house, the old restored farm bears witness to the agricultural life of the village of Saint-Jorioz. The elders, with the help and will of volunteers and the generosity of the locals, have transformed this 19th century farmhouse into an ethnographic museum, to preserve and promote the Savoyard heritage and culture: a place of transmission, a real link between the past and the present of the villagers' life. On two floors, objects and activities of the time can be observed. On the first floor, in the living rooms and the outbuildings, are displayed the objects of the daily life and the working tools (kitchen, cellar, press) of the various activities of the farm (fruit growing, harvest, vineyard, fishing, crafts...). On the first floor, 4 rooms: embroidery, sewing, trousseau; country bedroom; classroom of the past and room reserved for theme exhibitions. Without forgetting the small religious corner. With the presence of characters in period clothing. A deep immersion in the heart of the memories of yesteryear.
