LE GRAND MASSIF
The Grand Massif is a vast domain, the second most important in Haute-Savoie after the Portes du Soleil. It includes the two main ski areas of Flaine and Giffre, in all composed of five interconnected resorts: Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval, Samoëns, Flaine, Morillon and Les Carroz. There are 265 km of snow sports with 143 varied slopes (14 black, 46 red, 63 blue, 17 green, 1 jampark and 1 kidpark) to practice. An opportunity to take a splendid look at the Mont-Blanc massif, to be shared with the whole family at an altitude of 700 to 2,500 metres. 250 snow guns have been installed since 2010 to ensure snow all season long. From the resort of Samoëns, beginner skiers can safely ski between 700 and 1,600 metres, while the most experienced will go to the Coulouvrier chairlift, the longest in Europe with its 2.9 km ascent, to access the 4 new slopes to be covered by the superb valley of the same name. Not to be missed is a descent of the Cascades trail, the longest, in the heart of the Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval National Nature Reserve. In summer, the ski lifts are dedicated to hiking, paragliding and mountain biking. Practical access to the many discovery and activity points. A summer view of the great Giffre massif!
