ROCK SHELTER
Visit of a remarkable shelter in Thônes, for a great leap in Prehistory, one of the rare Paleolithic sites in the Alps.
A great leap back into prehistory to discover the first traces of occupation at one of the few Paleolithic sites in the Alps. 10,000 years ago, this natural habitat was home to an encampment that has now been reconstructed, allowing visitors to imagine how these early fishermen, gatherers and bow hunters settled in this valley. In July and August, the rock shelter comes to life and opens the doors to its history: guided tours of the shelter and excavation workshops are organized for children.
