EGLISE DE THORENS
Neo-Gothic church full of history, Francis, who became Saint Francis de Sales, was baptized there in 1567, the choir dates from the century.
How to evoke Fillière without mentioning the church of Thorens? A place full of history, it is here that little François, who was to become Saint François de Sales, was baptized on August 28, 1567, then consecrated bishop on December 8, 1602. He marked the Catholic history of the region by crisscrossing its territory to make religious life available to all and by creating, with Jeanne de Chantal, the Visitation order in Annecy. In this beautiful neo-Gothic church, the choir dates from the 15th century, while the rest was rebuilt at the end of the 19th century.
