The Balme-Tour-Vallorcine ski area brings together two distinct slopes: one accessible by the Vallorcine gondola lift and then the chairlift at the head of Balme (2,250 m) on Swiss territory; the other from the village of Le Tour by the gondola lift to Charamillon (1,850 m) and the chairlift at Autannes (2,195 m). The view is exceptional over the Mont-Blanc and Aiguilles Rouges massifs and the Chamonix valley. It is a very gentle ski that is practiced with slopes for beginners and families. In all, 8 ski lifts, 29 km of marked runs. The gondola lifts remain open during the summer months, allowing "mountain bikers" to escape on the bucolic trails and hikers to discover the resort's unspoilt mountain pastures. The hike to the Albert1er hut takes you through mountain pastures and wild forests, in a superb glacial setting.
