BARBERINE'S HOUSE
A house that takes you back to Vallorcine in the early century.
Close to the Swiss border, the Maison de Barberine takes visitors back to the Vallorcine of the early 18th century. Built in 1705 and transformed into a museum in 1987, the house is still standing, thanks to the dedication of an association of enthusiasts who seek to preserve a living trace of their village's pastoral past. Furniture, tools, engravings and other objects of traditional Savoyard life from this period, most of them astonishing, are enriched by the presence of temporary exhibitions. A museum as charming as it is instructive.
