Let's walk around Bourgoin on its paths. Going counter-clockwise, this 7.3 km circuit climbs from the Jardin de Ville to the Planbourgoin plateau. The plateau is sparsely wooded but rich, and if you look hard enough you will be able to admire wild orchids. Since Roman times, it was the stronghold of Bourgoin. In the Middle Ages, the Château de Beauregard, now in ruins, was the fortress of the lords until the middle of the 16th century. In 1347, it is described as a well guarded fortress.
