NOTRE-DAME-DE-GAYET BENEDICTINE PRIORY
This building dates from the th century and belonged to the order of the Benedictine people of Saint-Pierre in Vienna. He joined the abbey of Saint-Chef-en-Yvelines in 1247. He served as school and then theatre. The priory was acquired in 1962 by Roger Lorin who restored him and gave him his current place of exhibitions and concerts. It was classified as a historic monument in 1973. At last, the priory welcomes each summer the oldest French chamber music festival, but also exhibits such as the one devoted to the fishermen, the family of potters in Chirens who worked for two centuries for the chartreux.
