DELPHINAL CASTLE
12th century castle on the Saint-Laurent hill overlooking Crémieu, a restored military fortress that has become private property.
Built from the 12th century onwards, the Château Delphinal on the Saint-Laurent hill overlooking Crémieu is a small military fortress that enabled the Dauphins to defend their positions. Partly restored in 1930, it is now privately owned. You can see it, but not visit its interiors. In front of the entrance, a small square in the shape of a balcony affords an exceptional view of the city and Saint-Hippolyte hill. Even if you can't visit the château, it's an ideal destination for a stroll.
