MUSEUM OF SAINT-ANTOINE L'ABBAYE
Located on the exceptional site of the Abbey, in the former Novitiate of the 17th and 18th centuries, the departmental museum of Saint-Antoine l'Abbaye has undergone a complete remodelling of the route dedicated to the history of the abbey and the Order of the Antonines. Thus, the visit, which is always free of charge, makes it possible to better understand (multimedia content, digital tools with a dedicated application, more contemporary spaces, etc.) the Chronicles of an abbey through the art of building in the Middle Ages, the foundation of the Abbey and its evolution until the 18th century or medicine in the modern era. The museum itinerary is also structured around the medieval gardens, four gardens, including a surprising and magnificent celestial garden of Arab-Andalusian inspiration, not to mention the fountain of the Mystical Lamb, designed by the visual artist Pierre Buffa. Also, do not miss the exhibition devoted to the Millennium of Antonine History (1119-2019). A visit full of surprises that plunges the whole family into a wonderful world.
