Forty countries are affiliated to Fifé, including France. The origins of the federation date back to 1949, and it was a French cat lover, Marguerite Ravel, known as Miggy, who initiated its foundation. Her first show, held in Paris, brought together 200 pedigree cats from various European countries. The federation now registers over 110,000 pedigrees a year, accrediting 700 annual shows worldwide where over 200,000 hand-picked tomcats compete in all their aristocratic finery.
