COUVENT SAINTE-CÉCILE - GLÉNAT
A special place in Grenoble's history, the Sainte-Cécile convent and adjoining chapel were built in the 17th century to house the Bernardine nuns. After having been transformed into a cinema, a bar and a dance hall, a theater and suffering a few damages, the place has been restored to its original beauty to house the headquarters of the famous Grenoble publishing house Glénat, as well as an exceptional library comprising over 20,000 works from Jacques Glénat's personal collections and the Glénat publishing catalog. The Convent is a wonderful place to visit with a guide from the Tourist Office - for groups or individuals - and a library whose books can be consulted on site. Architecture, culture, literature: all in one place, for our greatest pleasure.
