A "revolutionary", good-natured festival, a day of cultural and associative effervescence, with plenty of entertainment.
In Grenoble, the Tuiles festival isn't really about celebrating the work of roofers. It's a reference to the "Journée des Tuiles" on June 7, 1788, when the people of Grenoble threw tiles at the French king's troops, marking the start of the French Revolution. A good-natured revolutionary festival, a day of cultural and associative effervescence that will celebrate its 9th edition in 2025 on the Cours Jean Jaurès and Cours de la Libération, which have been returned to pedestrians. A festive atmosphere with lots of entertainment: games, sports, music, dance, artistic performances, participatory processions, locavore meals... The spirit of Grenoble in a single day.
