A hall erected under the protection of St. Clare, housing a covered market and featuring a beautiful fountain right in front.
In the heart of the town, the Halles Sainte-Claire - some say "the market", as there is only one building - was erected on the site of a former convent of nuns of the Order of St. Francis, themselves under the protection of St. Clare. Demolished in the early 19th century, the convent was replaced by a market hall, built in 1874 in a rather Parisian style. In front of the building, a beautiful fountain, also built in 1874, depicts a fish surrounded by solar rays. Renovated in 1990, it now houses a covered market.
