MARCHE SAINT-ANDRÉ
Shopping on Grenoble's most beautiful square, with the Palais du Parlement finally free of its scaffolding, is a real treat. Place Saint-André, also known as "Place du Trib" (in reference to the former Palais de Justice), offers a magnificent backdrop with the former seat of the Dauphiné Parliament, its impressive dimensions, its cafés with terraces and its blue granite floor. On this pedestrian-only square, every day except Monday (as elsewhere in Grenoble), there's a farmers' market featuring products from the Isère region, including several organic producers. It's a friendly little market where you can stock up on good produce.
