SAINT-ANDRÉ CHURCH
Romanesque church in the heart of La Côte-Saint-André, built in the 11th century by the monks of Saint-Ruf.
In the heart of La Côte-Saint-André, this Romanesque church emblematic of our villages was built in the 11th century by the monks of Saint-Ruf. Listed as a historical monument, it is mixed with Gothic art and was modified several times until the 19th century. Of note is a bell tower of Romanesque origin, wooden statues and, in the old Romanesque chapel, the baptismal font on which Berlioz was baptised three days after his birth. The organ was built in 1880. Of course, chamber music concerts are performed here during the Berlioz Festival.
