THE STRONG HOUSE
House built in the XIIIth century, housing an unusual gite between the Bas-Bugey and the island of Crémieu.
Overlooking the Rhône and the town, commanding an important passage between the Bas-Bugey and the island of Crémieu, this Fortified House also houses an unusual gîte (10 people). Built in the 13th century, it illustrates the first generation of buildings whose plan is close to the castral model with high and low courts. The 13th century seigniorial tower, visible in the background, was built against the curtain wall of the high courtyard. In the 15th century, a new main building was built with a turret at the corner. Since its restoration, one enters by the drawbridge.
