LA PRA, LES LACS DOMENON ET LA CROIX DE BELLEDONNE (2926 M)

Without reaching the climber level that would require the ascent of the Pic Grand Peak (2 977 m), the climb to the Belledonne Cross is a beautiful mountain race, which can take place in two days, passing one night at the Pra refuge (2 109 m). To reach this refuge, you can pass through the Robert Lakes (see above), then the lakes Longet and Claret. Another solution is from the parking lot that is above Freydières Barns and climb to the Pra pass (2 170 m) by the north side: the road goes to Lake Crozet, which was the first water restraint created on the occasion of the birth of the white coal. The refuge is located a few dozen metres below the pass (south side). The route of the second day, from the refuge, passes through the Pra Pass and joins the Lacs Lakes (Small and Grand: altitude around 2 400 m). The following 400 m of ascension take place in the northeast direction: You reach the Col Pass (2 800 m), then move left towards the Belledonne Cross (which is the first of the Cross trilogy, intermediate peak, Grand Pic).
