The first church in Condrieu was built in the 5th century. Its porch has a tympanum representing the Last Supper and the Crucifixion.
In this ancient city, a first church existed as early as the5th century. The church of Saint-Etienne, in the heart of the town, dates from the 14th century but was, as is often the case, rebuilt during the Renaissance after its partial destruction during the Wars of Religion. Its porch has a tympanum representing the Last Supper and the Crucifixion, as well as a Romanesque lintel of great beauty. Also worth seeing are the beautiful illuminated railings on the chapels, dating from the 18th century. The small paved square in front of the porch is the place to meet on Sunday.
