House with mullioned windows, mascarons and a carved corner raven representing a dragon.
Of the 32 salt granaries in the Lyonnais, it is the only one still standing. The gabelle was a royal tax on salt, essential for preserving food. Each person had to buy a given quantity of salt at a price fixed by the administration in a salt storehouse. This solid 16th century building, in Renaissance style, belonged to the governor. It has mullioned windows, mascarons and a carved corner raven representing a dragon.
