HOUSE OF THE CURÉ D'ARS
The holy priest of Ars was born on May 8, 1786 in this house of Dardilly and lived there until the age of 20. He was promoted pastor of Ars-en-Dombes in February 1818. In this house, owned by one of its small-nephews, the furniture and furnishings of the time (xviiie) have been preserved. Since 1962, the memories of the priest of Ars are presented in the windows. Jean-Marie Vianney died at Ars on August 4, 1859. He was canonized on May 31, 1925 by Pope Pike XI. Pope John Paul II came to this place of remembrance at the bicentennial of the birth of the priest of Ars in 1986.
