BARRAGE DE JONS
Jons dam, 109 m long and 16.70 m high, with a high tower with a pointed roof, topped by a covered gallery.
Part of the Cusset hydroelectric scheme installed on the Rhône, the Jons dam was built between 1933 and 1937 across the river. At the entrance to the Miribel canal, whose flow it limits to the benefit of the Jonage canal, this remarkable dam, 109 meters long and 16.70 meters high, has five 18-meter long gates with wagon valves, topped by a covered gallery. The high tower with a pointed roof on the left bank houses the operating devices. The site, operated by EDF, cannot be visited.
