LE CHATEAU DES HALLES
In 1681, in the inventory presented by Mr des Halles to the Earl of Fenoyl, reference was made to the Château des Halles castle «almost entirely newly created, with lots of beautiful towers». The castle passes in different hands until Lucien Mangini buys it in 1863. It destroyed it in 1874-1875 to replace it with the current castle around 1882. The entire property was then 88 hectares and the dependencies extended to Souzy where the concierge pavilion can still be seen. Today, the property belongs to the Hospices Civils de Lyon, who established, starting in 1920, an institution for young girls'Dit Fondation foundation'following the donation made in 1902 by Madame Veuve Veuve. The establishment closed in June 2004.
