774, a new winning number proposed by Renaud Pur. Whether you travel up from Condrieu following the northern Rhône Valley vineyard or down from Lyon via Givors (quick access in 20 minutes), this is an address that promises to be a real gourmet embassy for the region. Parking near Loire-sur-Rhône station to find a pleasant restaurant on the other side of the road. A large contemporary room with a chic brewery spirit with its wine cellar-style bottle alignments, wine cellar and adjoining tasting room with its warmest counter and, for sunny days, a shaded terrace at the back of the building with ball games to prolong the pleasure of being at 774. In the kitchen, perfectly prepared traditional dishes are displayed on the slates: veined snails casserole, beef or salmon carpaccio, goat's cheese salad; to follow marbled frogs, a duo of scallops and prawns, a veal T-bone, a rib steak or beef tartare. Another pleasant surprise, a suggestion of the day like this roasted cabri not too much seen elsewhere and delicious. Of course, the wine list is remarkable, especially from the region (but not only...), with an excellent selection of producers. Possibility to buy your wine in the cellar, to consume it on the spot (corkage fee 8 €) or to take it home. On weekend evenings, animations and notes for "jazzer". A beautiful discovery to share.
