The Société Protectrice des Animals de Lyon, established in 1853 and recognised of public utility in 1893, is the largest animal protection association in the Rhône. It fights relentlessly against animal suffering through several missions, the most notorious of which are to collect lost and abandoned animals and to help abused animals. It also participates in the sterilization of stray cats, avoiding their proliferation. To help the SPA, it is possible to donate or join by visiting the head office Jean Moulin. But it is also essential to go to the Refuge refuge to adopt vaccinated and identified animals (sterilized for cats over 6 months of age). So, instead of going to pet shops paying in European chat more than 250 €, a race dog or NAC, make a nice gesture by adopting an animal at the SPA.
