L’ATELIER 9
Run by Elisabeth Venot de Texier and Audrey de Texier Fumex, L'Atelier 9 offers dance classes for adults and children, whether they are beginners or experienced dancers. The techniques taught range from rhythmic dance (Irène Popard method) to contemporary dance (José Limon, Lester Horton, Merce Cunningham methods) via jazz or modern-jazz. One of the rare schools in France to make the technique of Martha Graham known, thanks to the work of Elisabeth Venot de Texier with Yuriko, first dancer of Graham Company in the 1970s. Twice to three times per season, L'Atelier organises weekends by inviting renowned external teachers. Finally, every two years, the school puts on a show presented at the house of dance in June.
