What a joy to highlight an address that continues for more than a century this tradition which has greatly contributed to the reputation of Lyon: the delicacy. Opened in 1901 on the left bank of Rhône, family business taken over 10 years ago by a charming couple pursuing the same philosophy of quality of a house holding a real craftsmanship, the Janin chocolate house honors the Lyon's colours by making every year between 12 and 15 tons of chocolates to delight gourmets from here and elsewhere. A stone's throw from the Saxe-Gambetta metro station, easy to reach, the Janin chocolate shop always welcomes you with a smile to offer you a wide range of chocolates with or without alcohol. You will let yourself be advised, but you should certainly not leave without getting in your ballotin a Palet d'Or - a mavel -, a Soie de Lyon, a ganache flavoured with Armagnac decorated with real money, a Duc de Saxe, a ganache with currants soaked in the old Marc de Bourgogne or a Carré de Soie, a praline with nougatine base. But there is still chocolate bars, chocolates with liqueur to not to be missed, "festive" chocolates, especially at Easter with delicious mouldings... The delicacy does not stop with chocolates, because the Janin house is also coffee roaster and offers the Dammann teas, at very attractive rates, with 60 varieties. It also has a deli corner with gourmet products signed Alain Milliat and other regional producers of good taste. Janin makes gift boxes for works councils and purchasing groups.
