VILLA GILLET
Once the property of a 19th-century Lyon industrialist specializing in chemical dyes, this bourgeois mansion in the Parc de la Cerisaie on the Croix-Rousse is now home to the Villa Gillet association. This European house of contemporary writing is a meeting place for writers, thinkers and artists. It promotes literature and the humanities as a common language, and serves as a laboratory for reflection on practices related to books, the written word and debate. Every May, it organizes Littérature Live and, in November, the Mode d'Emploi debate festival.
