Since 1934, the Compagnie Nationale du Rhône (CNR) has been in charge of the concession of the Rhone River for its development and improvement. Three missions are developed within this framework: electricity production, navigation and irrigation of agricultural land. The waterways allow you to discover an exceptional natural heritage. From Lyon to the sea, there are 330 km of waterways open to you thanks to 14 locks managed by CNR. Passing through the locks is free of charge, but boaters must pay VNF for a "vignette de plaisance fluviale".
