The 6th arrondissement covers the districts of LaTête d'Or park, Brotteaux station, Cité Internationale, Place Foch and Place Bellecombe as well as those of major highways such as Masséna and Thiers-Vitton. It is in this arrondissement that Lyon's most famous park is located, that of the Tête d'Or Island, one of the largest urban parks in France with its large lawn, its beautiful alleys and its 16-hectare lake. The 6th arrondissement is also famous for its former Lyon-Brotteaux station, with its Art Nouveau facade, now abandoned but which houses one of Paul Bocuse's five breweries, l'Est, and an auction house. Finally, this arrondissement is often considered the most chic in Lyon with its wide avenues lined with superb buildings and private mansions, the most famous being the Boulevard des Belges where most of the buildings offer a beautiful view of the Tête d'or park. Also to be found in the 6th arrondissement: the Natural History Museum-Guimet and the Museum of Contemporary Art.

What to visit Lyon?

When to go to Lyon?

Lyon, the third largest city in France, is alive all year round and has an incomparable architectural, cultural or religious wealth. No tourist season other than the one caused by school holidays. So you can come whenever you want! However, it is sometimes very hot in summer and very cold in winter. You should also know that magic works particularly during the Festival of Lights, an emblematic Lyon festival that makes the city shine from all sides, from small candles lit on the windowsills of private individuals to the sumptuous illuminations of the city. Pilgrimages are also an opportunity to climb the hill of Fourvière during religious festivities. The Nuits de Fourvière, in June and July, with multidisciplinary performances in ancient theatre, are also another incentive.
