At Café du Peintre, it's Florence Périer, one of Lyon's last remaining mothers, in her kitchen where she prepares traditional Lyonnais cuisine based on the finest ingredients. In the chic Brotteaux district, this unusual bouchon is a meeting place for all social classes. Eat and drink well, thanks to Max's marvellous wine list with 1,200 references, from 8:30 a.m. over a mâchon or at lunchtime with a dish of the day, depending on the chef's mood and what's available.
