Created in 1980 on the heights of the Croix-Rousse, the Maison de la Danse, the very first in France, took up residence in this ^8th arrondissement theater just over 30 years ago. The wonderful adventure continues under the artistic direction of Tiago Guedez, who is taking full advantage of this unique venue, which will be extended in 2027 to include the Ateliers de la Danse. One show follows another, and bodies are set free, in an exemplary program featuring big names from all over the world, as well as new discoveries in a wide variety of styles.

An unavoidable place of the Lyon cultural life that offers programming of top quality and a wide variety to satisfy all tastes. We are much-loved for years and only two reproaches that we can formulate it is on the one hand the malaysian (very tight rows, if there are large legs it is the horror!) and on the other hand considering the request it is always difficult to obtain good places even while subscribing to during the days of presentation of season (it is a bit the assault course). But these two faults are forgotten facing the beauty of the shows… Do not hesitate to dine at Ginger & Fred, the restaurant of the MDD, before or after the performance, cabaret atmosphere (with video shows) where is offered a little expensive but tasty and varied menu.
