This square tower which culminates at an altitude of 405 m on the hill of Montézain was built in golden stones. It houses the optical telegraph, an ingenious system invented at the end of the 18th century by Claude Chappe. Although the tower has fallen into ruin during its history, the commune of Marcy decided to restore it in 1981. It is possible to visit it to discover how it works and its history. It is one of the last five towers still visible in France, and is listed in the supplementary inventory of historical monuments since 1982.
