Exciting visit of a museum which makes the link between biology, medicine and human sciences, a living museum in Marcy-Etoile.

In the fight against infectious diseases, Marcy-l'Etoile has held a special place since Marcel Mérieux settled there in 1917. With its captivating scenography, the Dr Mérieux Museum of Biological Sciences tells 3 stories: that of the Mérieux family, daring researchers and entrepreneurs; that of Marcy-l'Etoile, a world-famous commune; and that of the biological sciences. This museum is an excellent educational tool, and a real conscience-raiser.

Excellent museum. Offers a historical perspective as well as an overview of state-of-the-art health practices. Full of interactive items including high-tech research equipment (or in some cases realistic simulations thereof), such as optical and electronic microscopes, a Petri dish for bacterial cultivation etc.

I find it suitable for children starting from the age of about five (and adults alike!).

Know that the museum has been renovated, expanded and reopened in March 2024 and that older reviews may be outdated.

Es sin duda uno de los mejores museos que haya visitado. La información es super completa y muy precisa, enfocado más que nada en microbiología es una gran experiencia, logras entender como es que los virus y bacterias, así como nuestro entorno se ven reflejados en nuestra salud y vida diaria.
