MONTMELAS CASTLE
Castle of the XIIth century with elements of the XVth and XVIth centuries, the renovation allowed to restore the medieval fortress.
Initially a fort of the Lords of Beaujeu, this castle passed through the hands of several families before becoming the property of the Harcourt family. Built in the 12th century, it has been modified several times, notably in the 19th century. It preserves many elements of the 15th and 16th centuries. The last works aimed at restoring a complete medieval fortress. All the buildings and gardens have been listed in the supplementary inventory of historical monuments. The property is a wine estate as well as a gîte.
