THE BRÉVENNE AQUEDUCT
Go there and contact
This evenly-sloped canal can be easily spotted from Bois de la Bonnette to Bois de la Cure.
One of the four aqueducts built by the Romans, with those of the Monts d'Or, the Gier and the Yzeron. This one takes its source in Aveize and crosses several communes of the Monts du Lyonnais before joining Lyon by Lentilly and Dardilly. This canal with its regular slope, mostly underground and remarkably well preserved, can be easily spotted from the Bonnette wood to the Cure wood. A marked path allows you to follow the aqueduct for about 400 meters. This path follows a Roman road on a part of its course.
