THE TOWER OF THE TWENTIES
One of the remains of the city's defense system through its fortifications in Mornant.
In the old medieval town, the Tour du Vingtain is one of the remains of the town's defence system through its fortifications. Built in the 10th century, it is a square keep built with beautiful stones and pierced on each side by three levels of archways, which owes its name to a tax levied, which represented one twentieth of the income of an individual. In the 17th century, it was discouraged - the battlements date from the 19th century - and transformed into a prison until 1937. 18.20 metres high, it offers a beautiful panorama of the village and the Mornanese countryside.
