MONT BROUILLY

This mountain of 185 meters is a mythical place, allowing to admire a superb panorama from its summit.
There's no eponymous village here, but a place that's almost mythical. Isolated amidst plains and hillsides, Mont Brouilly stands out at 485 m in altitude. From the summit, you can take in a superb panorama of the Beaujolais region and, on a clear day, the Alps. Since its origins as a place of worship, first Celtic, then Christian, it has always been dominated by a chapel: Notre-Dame-des-Raisins. It was built in the mid-19th century, on a site where a succession of crosses and statues had been erected to protect the vineyard. A pilgrimage is still held here on September 8.
