THE FOUNTAIN OF ORLIENAS
Fountain whose waters would have curative virtues for the digestive problems and skin diseases in Orliénas.
The spring is reached by a small steep path. The water flows inside a vaulted stone building. The red colour of the ground is a sign of the presence of iron in the water. Developed on the advice of the parish priest, the waters are said to have healing properties for digestive problems and skin diseases. Almost miraculous cures, in any case very real as testified by many letters, have made the reputation of the village in the 18th and 19th centuries. It is forbidden to drink this ferruginous water because of the low flow of the spring.
